ABOUT THE WORK
Have you ever had your breath taken away by the color of dogwood trees, autumn leaves, a sunset, or the view of the landscape as you drive over a hill? Or, recall the depth of emotion one feels over a life experience, the death of a loved one or a global disaster? These are the frozen moments and emotions I strive to express in my work. Piecing cotton, linen, and silk in an impressionistic, painterly manner, I use the inherent quality of natural fabrics to absorb or reflect light, producing a constant interplay of light, texture and color. In so doing, I want to connect the passion I feel with the often chaotic reality surrounding us in our daily living.
