ABOUT THE ARTIST
Marla Lipkin is a native New Yorker and graduate of The Cooper Union. The artists' works are in many private collections. She has exhibited widely and has had many solo shows. Marla Lipkin has been awarded residencies at The Millay Colony for the Arts, The Michael Karolyi Foundation, Vence, France and The Provincetown Workshop on Cape Cod. The artist has her studio in Long Island City.
ABOUT THE WORK
It was the early experience of painting on the cape that introduced the artist to the wonders of light and color; the ever changing and mesmerizing relationship of sea to sky. But it happened in Wells, Maine at the Rachel Carson Preserve, that the beauty of the salt marsh became a focus for her work. The artist is presently spending her summer in North Truro, on Cape Cod painting sea and sky!
