ABOUT THE WORK
In the various series of photographs which Malka Inbal has taken, she examines personal experiences, such as conjugality, motherhood, loss, femininity, and various social situations. The different subjects arise symbolically from the works. The series, which are built layer by layer, form a kind of mirror which reflects everyday situations and conflicts. Actual and fictitious figures and shadows appear and instantly disappear and confuse the viewer’s eye.
The photographs were taken using a personal technique that Malka Inbal has developed, which by means of a silvery screen, lighting and focus produces transparencies that create the appropriate combination for each picture.
No computer is involved.
